How I Spent My Summer

Hello All,
I am new to the concept of blogging. I was told I should tell folks about myself, family, changes at the office, courses taken, new procedures we offer at the office. Well, just about anything.

So I thought I'd start with last summer. Seems like the first assignment I ever had coming off summer vacation as a youth was an essay on how we spent the past few months. Therefore seems like a logical way to proceed into my blogging experience.

My folks spend the better (at least weather-wise) in a beach home they converted to a year round cotage, on the ocean in Duxbury MA. Duxbury is one town north of Plymouth, where the Pilgrams landed.

The house over looks a beautiful stretch of private beach. I am the oldest of eight children, and many still live in the Boston area, so there is always plenty of people to enjoy, eat good food, play some golf.

This past summer my wife Jan and I were
joined my oldest son Paul who had just
returned from a year of studying in
Madrid. Here is a photo of Paul and myself.

My Mom and Dad have eight kids, 11 grandkids and just last week became Great Gandparents of the first time. They enjoy the beach house when the weather allows, but when it get bleak in the winter they enjoy getting into the warmer climes of Naples FL.

I am pretty lucky. My folks are still very
healthy and active, they both play golf
regularly, and enjoy time with their kids
and grandkids. My Mom is a bit camera
shy, not so my Dad. I inherited being a ham from
him I reckon.

We do try and visit the sights whenever we
go anywhere to visit and there is just so
much to see when you visit an older city.
Here is a photo of myself and my wife Jan
seeing the sights in Faneuil Hall near the Big
Dig on the waterfront in Beantown. Jan and I
are info junkies, and can generally be found
at least once per trip on the guided bus tours.

Well, this was the trip that kicked off last summer for us. There was other adventures before the summer was out, and I'll fill you in on some of them over the coming weeks.
Thank you for visiting.
